Enugu State Young Farmers Association (ENSYFA).
His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Deputy Governor, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, Honourable Commissioners, esteemed Members of the House of Assembly, Local Government Chairmen, respected Traditional Rulers, our valued partners, distinguished guests, fellow young farmers, and ladies and gentlemen—Good morning.
It is a tremendous honor to address you on this historic day as we celebrate the first-ever Enugu New Yam Festival and, more importantly, the transformative potential of agriculture for our beloved Enugu State.

Today, we gather not just to commemorate this festival, but to sound a clarion call to every son and daughter of Enugu and beyond. We must view agriculture as more than mere sustenance; it is the key to economic empowerment, job creation, and the upliftment of our communities.
As young farmers, we believe that agriculture is not only about food production. It is about wealth creation, job generation, and driving sustainable growth. Our Vision is to tackle hunger and poverty across Enugu State and beyond. Our Mission is to achieve this by deploying our youths into gainful agricultural ventures, and our Goal is to adopt innovative farming techniques, promote export, and contribute a staggering $1.6 billion to the state's GDP growth.
While our ambitions are bold, we recognize that success requires collaboration. We are proud to partner with prestigious organizations such as the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Lo-Fish Travels and Tours, Igbos in Diaspora, Umu Igbo Unite, and various government ministries—Agriculture and Agro-Industrialization, Commerce, Trade, and Industry, Culture and Tourism, and Youths and Sports.
With these partnerships, we aim to significantly contribute to the realization of His Excellency Barr. Dr. Peter Mbah's vision of boosting Enugu’s GDP from $4.4 billion to $30 billion. Through foreign investment, expanded agricultural production, and the transformation of our local crops into export-grade products, we are confident in our $1.6 billion contribution.
Our state is blessed with crops that have immense export potential—Ose Nsukka, Ugu, Garri, Rice, Yam, and many others. With over 10,000 young farmers under ENSYFA, we are well-positioned to maximize our numbers and strength. I call on our brothers and sisters in the diaspora to bring their foreign exchange home and invest in our land. Together, we can build the economy of our homeland.
We are deeply grateful to His Excellency Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Patrick Ubru, whose visionary leadership has facilitated the training and certification of nearly 1,000 youths in modern agriculture at the prestigious Songhai Farm. Let us give them a well-deserved round of applause. We remain committed to ensuring these young individuals become the backbone of our state's agricultural transformation through the establishment of Agro Farm Tech.
At ENSYFA, we are dedicated to revolutionizing agriculture with technology and innovation. Our plan includes launching a blockchain market, ensuring real farmers receive full value for their produce. Across the globe, farmers feed the world yet often struggle to feed themselves. They buy inputs at retail prices and sell their outputs at wholesale prices. We must change this system by organizing as a collective whole and negotiate better deals for our farmers.
Ladies and gentlemen, we must elevate agriculture into a profitable, scalable, and rewarding enterprise. Today’s agriculture is data-driven, ICT-enabled, and well globalized. It is less about manual labor and more about strategy, planning, and innovation. The phrase make agriculture sexy isn't about appearance—it's about transforming agriculture into a lucrative business.
We are committed to integrating technology and smart solutions into our farms, making us adaptable to climate change and market dynamics. To support this, we are seeking 100 hectares of land* for youth-driven agribusiness projects like Agro Farm Tech. Furthermore, we emphasize the importance of securing our farmlands and ensuring the safety of our farmers.
In conclusion, ENSYFA pledges to continue attracting more youth into agriculture, infusing the sector with their creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit. Together, we will build a thriving agricultural sector in Enugu State, positioning it as a leader in both local and global markets.
I urge all stakeholders—policymakers, investors, and especially the youth—to see agriculture not just as a necessity, but as a shared responsibility and an extraordinary opportunity for our collective future.

Rangers was the binding wire that bound the faith of the IGBO MAN together. Because the Igbos does not believe in anybody, rather the Igbo-man believes in self and God. He believes in what he can do for himself and others. Otherwise, how could a people in a war situation be cut off from outside world, they were not getting relief materials from the world bodies, no ammunition and the rest, and things got most trying and difficult. But in such horrible state of life, the IGBO-MAN produce the great bomb fondly called (Ojukwu bucket or Ogbunigwe) that destroys and kills in multiple folds, produced fighter jets which they used during the war, the Igbo-man produced his own fuel both for aviation and automotive uses. The Igbo-man started live again after the war with just twenty pounds only and excelled beyond imagination. Rangers FC was a reincarnated spirit of Igbo-man, that of course was the reason Rangers took over the football sphere in Nigeria shortly after it was founded in early 70's. Well let me come back before I go adrift Rangers International FC. I appreciate my brother Chief Ben Etiaba "Ifennia" founder Ethical Leadership Center Enugu, for the good job he is doing , especially in fishing out our men and women of substance who has paid their dues in their different callings and honouring them duly. Finally, my Congratulations goes to Dr. Joseph Ugboaja the Chief Medical Director Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi for his milestone achievement so far at NAUTH. I also congratulate the young enterprising Director of Rangers management board chief Ugboaku for his visionary leadership and achievements. God bless you all, and let the flame keep burning!
