The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has dismissed the purported suspension of the State Chairman, Ugochukwu Agballah, and three other party officials.
In a communique issued after its meeting at its state secretariat in Enugu, the party described the reports as “false, mischievous, and lacking legal basis and mere nonsensical propaganda with the sole aim of bringing the party and its officials to disrepute and public odium.”
In a statement, the Deputy State Chairman of APC Enugu State, Chief Augustine Alumonah, accused expelled members of the party of teaming up with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)-led state government to destabilize the party.
Chief Alumonah emphasized that the purported suspension announced on July 27 by Michael Ezeanyanwu and Alphonsus Nwafor, who claimed to be State Publicity Secretary and Vice Chairman, Enugu West Senatorial Zone, respectively is null and void.
He stated that neither Ezeanyanwu nor Nwafor have the authority to suspend any member of the party as they no longer represent the party in any capacity.
He urged party faithful and general public to disregard the sponsored suspension and be rest assured of the rescue mission and rebuilding of APC in Enugu state by the Agballah-led administration.
The party stakeholders also warned against false and misleading information being spread by certain individuals, noting that it would extend further disciplinary and legal actions against the expelled members and their collaborators.
The party leadership maintained that Ugochukwu Agballah and the Minister of Innovation Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji cannot be stopped until the party takes the reign of the leadership of the government in Enugu State.
