The Enugu State government has cancelled the usual last Saturday environmental sanitation exercise for the month of July 2024 because of the Ward Congress of the People's Democratic Party (PDP)
This is contained in a statement issued on on Friday by the SPA to the Governor on Water and Waste, Andreas Gebauer.
He said, "Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) wishes to inform the general public that the clean-up exercise, scheduled to take place today, Saturday, has been cancelled.
"This is due to the Ward Congress of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) scheduled to take place across the 260 wards in the State on Saturday, July 27, 2027.
The statement however, called on the residents to keep their environments clean in order to maintain a healthy living.
"All inconveniences are highly regretted.
